Recognize that virginity is a social construct intended to police and control the sexual agency of women by attaching their value as a human being to notions of moral purity. It’s also used to enforce toxic masculinity and misogyny by enforcing the idea that “manliness” - i.e. the validity of one’s identity as an adult male - is predicated upon losing one’s virginity by way of penis-in-vagina sex.
Also understand that this obsession with virginity as such leads to lots of technical virginity bullshit - like, only oral sex, or anal sex, but done without any understanding of safer sex practices - so it’s really not worth sticking with.
